Traditional 28-Day Programs vs. Florida Detox 3-Day Program
The "28-day" program is not magical. It was designed over 20 years ago by doctors because "insurance companies" decided they would pay for 28 days once a year. These programs require extensive absence from work, families; and they impose tremendous physical stress on the patient. Many patients "give up" half-way through the traditional detox because withdrawal symptoms are too painful. Our patients state that the Florida Detox technique prevents 90% of the painful and dangerous withdrawal symptoms they experienced at 28-day centers. We can accomplish in three days what requires three weeks at traditional, less advanced detox centers. Brain Chemistry and Addiction

Patients with certain inherited brain chemistry "feel more normal" when using pain pills or alcohol. Soul Pain and Addiction
Many patients anesthetize their soul pain with drugs or alcohol. This pain is usually a result of traumatic childhood experiences and broken relationships. Family Involvement
We believe in educating the family as well as the patient with the scientific basis of addiction. The family best knows the patient's personality profile and history. When empowered, the family can greatly assist our physicians in providing an accurate diagnosis of any underlying brain chemistry issues which are the cause of craving. Family resentment toward the patient usually subsides after their participation in our "brain chemistry workshop." |
